Sister Ivy (Aunt Sissy) posted a condolence

My beloved brother Eddie,
"God saw the road was getting rough, the hills were hard to climb. He gently closed your eyes and whispered "Peace be thine".
Eddie, you were the youngest child of the "Brown's clan"...of Justin and Catherine's children. You loved to make people laugh. You loved to share stories and tell jokes. One of my favorite memory is of you telling me story of a mad man.
You said, one day this mad man was chasing a man all over the place. The mad man was armed wirh a machete. The man being chased ran as fast as his legs could carry him...bound for the police station. When the man reached the station, he collasped and fell on the steps. He looked up saw the mad man with the machete and screamed "Lawd Gad, mi ded now". The mad man leaned over and touched the frightened man with the machete, threw down the machete and said " Last lick...your time fi catch mi".
Writing this brings a smile to my face despite the deep sorrow I feel acknowledging that we won't have our weekly chats.
Eddie, I miss you. My heart is heavy but I take comfort in knowing we will reunite one day. Rest in peace until we meet again.
Your favorite sister...yes I said it (we all felt like your favorite)

Uncle Eddie spent time in conversation with me and was knowledgeable in lots of topics. He was a very young uncle who I could relate easily to. A generous, humorous, gentle man. Gone too soon. You will be missed. Rest in peace.

I greatly appreciate the time I worked with Mr. Stephen Brown. We worked together in the Radio Shop. One time, Stephen and I were the only two technicians at Hillcrest when Transit Control lost all train and station communications. Thanks to Stephen’s technical and interpersonal talents, we were able to fix the problem with no ramifications. God Bless Mr. Stephen Brown.

Uncle Eddie inhabited a special place in my heart. From my earliest memories, he had referred to me as "Andree", his own pet name for me, and that made me feel special. Undoubtedly, Uncle Eddie had that same effect on all of his nieces and nephews. Uncle Eddie always had a twinkle in his eye and a mischievous grin. He never seemed to become too anxious or upset in the face of challenges. His advice and insights were always calm and composed, and had the effect of stilling a fretful mind.
Uncle Eddie was a constant presence throughout my childhood. Our families visited each others' families regularly, and Junie (Denise) and Kareem (Ademola) became very close cousins. When I was in high school, Uncle Eddie tutored me in Math. Each Saturday, I took public transit to his home in an endeavour to conquer the mathematical processes, which, being an engineer, came so easily to my uncle. Uncle Eddie also coached me at one of my high school track meets. I was an elite athlete, who was underperforming that day. "Andree," encouraged my uncle while pointing to my main competitor, "Yuh jus haffi jump like she!"
I smile as I recall and recount some of these most poignant memories. In the photo accompaniment, taken July 2020, you will see (from left to right) my daughter, Jade; my son Jameel; my daughter, Janae; my husband, Howard, and myself; my mom Laura (Birdie); my sisters, Arlene and Michelle; and my beloved Uncle Eddie. I am fortunate to have seen my uncle, along with other family members, recently at a Thanksgiving get together. While he has gone home much too soon, he lives on in my fond memories. Rest well, Uncle Eddie.

I was 15 years old when he was born. He was my youngest brother. Many thought he was my son because I took him everywhere with me, even to have him christened. I was shocked to know that he left so soon, although I understand this is the road each and everyone must travel. Eddie we will meet again when the time comes. May you rest in peace in our heavenly father’s arms.

I have many wonderful memories of Uncle Eddie. He loved music. Whenever he visited Jamaica, he was sure to stock up on his 45 LP records to take back and add to his collection in Canada. Uncle Eddie was a constance presence throughout my childhood despite him living many, many miles away in another country.
I remember Uncle Eddie telling my mothrr to"Sissy stop the car, even handcart and bicyle man a pass yuh...mek mi walk". I am truly blessed that I was able to see Uncle Eddie this past October at Sharon's thanksgiving dinner in Canada. No doubt the call on December 21st, 2022 informing of his demise was shocking to say the least.
Uncle Eddie continue your sacred journey as you dance among our ancestors.
Your niece Den Den (Florida).

My fondest memories of my Uncle Eddie was as a little girl growing up in Jamaica. I always looked forward to his visits to Jamaica. He was always jovial, funny and had a penchant for family and world history. He encouraged us to celebrate each other by staying connected and having family reunions as often as we can. He had a penchant for family and world history and I learned from him.
When I relocated to the states, I continued to visit with him when I vacationed in Canada. My condolences to Aunt Mae, Junie and Kareem. Words cannot explain how I really feel.
See the pic of me and my cousins with Uncle Eddie in Canada in July 2022.
Uncle Eddie I miss you, but I know you are in a better place. R.I.P
