Obituary of Ileen Agatha Nicholson
With profound sadness, the family of Ileen Agatha Nicholson announces her passing at the age of ninety seven on January 19th, 2021 at the Brampton Civic Hospital.
Ileen was born on February 8th, 1923 in Georgetown, Guyana and worked at the Campbellville Health Centre for many years. After retirement, she migrated to Canada.
She is survived by children Leroy (Desiree), Robert (Yvonne), Desiree (Patrick), Jennifer (John), Gary and grandchildren (29), great-grandchildren (107) and great-great-grandchildren (7) in the USA, Canada and Guyana
Ileen is predeceased by her husband Kenneth and children Walter, Horace, Richard and Pamela.
She was loved by many specifically for her generous spirit, kindness and love of God. A member of the Heart Lake Baptist Church, her favorite psalm was the 23rd. Favorites amongst all her interest were world politics, criminal justice shows and word search puzzles. She donated to charities that supported children’s welfare and the Red Cross. Known for her phrase “what is man!?”, when shocked or amused. Ileen will be missed by everyone whose life she impacted, especially her granddaughter Cheryl (Derrick) and great-grandchildren, Naffisia and Tanya with whom she resided.
The family wishes to thank everyone for their kind expressions of sympathy during this time.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to.
