From my family to yours, our deepest condolences. We will always remember Babba as a hard working person who worked tirelessly to ensure his family was raised right. He built his own house and everyone had to go to church. His home was our second home, he was my father and my children's grandfather. We were never treated any less. Until now we are still brothers and sisters. We love you in spite of the distance and we will always be connected in love. Even though he's gone we look forward to seeing him when Jesus comes again. Mr. McGhie - or 'Poppa' as everyone called him - loved to praise and sing. I could see and hear him from my place at the keyboard - singing from his favorite pew near the front of the church. After service, we'd sometimes have a short chat in the foyer - speaking about music and hymns. It seemed that there was no 'Sankey' song that he didn't know! Poppa loved to support the young people also. The attached picture shows him at a youth service in April 2019. He really didn't like to miss church. I will always remember him and be inspired by his faithfulness and Godly nature. I send my sincere prayers and condolences to his family. - Brian Wallace - choir director, St. Clair Avenue Baptist Church.
