Mrs. Violet Walwyn was an inspiration to many, and on countless occasions when I had the pleasure of seeing her, over the course of a few decades, she always had something positive and encouraging to say with a beautiful smile in a humble and gracious manner. I had the joy of growing up with many of her children and experiencing all good memories throughout my adolescent and most of my adult years. I pray for strength for her children, grandchildren and other loved ones. Cherish the memories in your hearts forever. My sincere condolences to the Walwyn Family, may your Mother rest peacefully until then. Sincerely, Velda Bacchus

Aunty Violet was a gem. When God created her he knew he was creating one of a kind. When I held Aunty Violet’s hand and walked her up to Daddy’s casket last October, I did not know it was the last time I would see her. Though her visit was brief, it encompassed the strong, sincere, genuine, loving, caring and supporting soul she was and it was a huge blessing to have her there. When she shed a tear and shook her head slowly as she looked at my dad in the casket, I wondered what she was thinking. Maybe she thought gone too soon... or maybe something else... It was a sad day for all of us but her amazingingly calming persona was ever present. She was indeed a woman of God.
My condolences to the entire family. May each of you find comfort in her wonderful memories. Words cannot express what an inspiration your mom was to so many. May her soul rest in eternal peace. Love, Vicki

The news of the passing of Mrs. Violet Walwyn was received with surprise and deep sadness. My wife and I can only imagine what it has meant to her closely knit family over whose welfare and well-being she presided for scores of years, with the greatest care and nurturing that could ever have been brought to the task and duty of parenthood. We hereby transmit very sincere condolences to the whole family who mourn their sad loss.
I first met Mrs. Walwyn through her husband, St. Clair Walwyn, who was my Geography Master at the St>Kitts/Nevis Grammar/High School and the family of Mr. Victor Jones who was the Headmaster of the School then. These were two outstanding men. Eventually, they took me into their homes at particularly difficult periods of life. I have always marvelled at how Mrs. Walwyn managed to juggle work as a teacher; extensive household chores and the care of the children: Carl, Julie and Frank, who were then quite young. And then to add me to that mix? What great heart and sacrifice that was.
Mrs. Walwyn was always a wise and gentle Christian soul, who taught her children to walk in the light. Over the years it was a pleasure to maintain a bond with her, even after the passing of her husband. Whenever we met she always had the most kind and uplifting wishes to impart. The pity is that the two last occasions were at the funerals of Mr. Joey Quinlan and Mr. Victor Jones in St. Kitts and Nevis.
An exchange of Christmas Cards with a note therein was a fixed feature. It was quite a surprise when in her last note this past December she informed me of her diagnosis but the tone of the note gave the impression that, as usual, the fight against the illness was about to commence. Knowing her fighting spirit I took it that this would have been one more battle won. It was thus my surprise to learn that she had passed when I enquired of Mr. Glenn Quinlan two days ago. It had been my intention to communicate with her by telephone if possible.
We have constant reminders of the fragility of life and of our continuing existence here in this mortal domain. We mourn but not without hope that she is in a better place where peace and beauty reigns. She has earned and richly deserves it. May Her Dear Soul Rest in Peace Eternal and rise in Glory.

Violet and St. Clair Walwyn — Together Forever! What a vibrant hope to cherish!
When I was grafted into this illustrious Walwyn family as Angelica‘s husband, Violet and St. Clair’s home in St. Kitts was our favorite home away from home. This gracious, dignified lady provided warm friendship, the best chicken soup, fun and laughter. St. Clair was a trip! I have cherished these fond memories for over 50 years, always with a warm glow of gratitude.

To the Walwyn Family
As we go through this time remember:- Life’s not fair,
But everyday someone experiences an adversity, pain, trial, problems, burden.
They leave us sometimes feeling as though we are being treated unfairly. When those feelings emerge tell yourself: Life is not fair, but God is good.
What must it be to step on shore and find it…..HEAVEN
To take hold of a hand, and find it……GOD’S HANDS
To breathe a new air and find it……CELESTAL AIR
To feel invigorated, and find it….IMMORTALITY
To rise from the care and turmoil of earth into on unbroken calm
To wake up and fine it……GLORY
Till we meet again

For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?
And what is it to cease breathing but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?

So blessed to have known Sis Walwyn for a short while yet feels like we have known her all our life. Such a beautiful person inside and out. She will surely be missed. Sis Julie Tross and siblings our thoughts and our prayers are with you. Soon and very soon Christ will come again and you shall see your mom again. Keep this hope burning in your hearts. Until then, be assured of God’s presence, comfort and help. We too are here to assist you any way we can.
