First all I would like to say peace & blessing to the grieving family of a great friend who inspired many around the world & myself . I'm Koko Chanell & I have know Louie Rankin since 2006 . When I got the news that Ox passed I was in total disbelief. I'm originally from Houston Texas & I was opening up for Louie at a Dance Hall in the South West Part of Houston Tx performing my first single as a Hip-Hop & R&B artist. I was the last act to bring Louie on & he was outside waiting to come in & make his appearance on stage . I'll never forget walking out after taking my pictures and the crowd coming out behind me asking "where was I going". Louie began to say wait a min what's going on & they stoped and said the headliner Ox hasn't performed so Louie made EC everyone go back in & said if you can move a crowd like that little sister the when he tour in Texas I'll be on the opening acts. From there I was one of the one's he selected to open up for him in places he toured in Texas as a young lady coming up in the industry. Louie Rankin was a inspiration to me as a artist because he pushed me to stay on my music & believe in myself when other's didn't. He showed love to everyone. He was one of the most strongest person I knew that said something and meant what he said . His legacy was one of a kind even when he speak. He was a powerful man. Anytime you was around him he made you feel protected as a big brother and a successful person that had a vision. When I had my children he was a big brother figure & kept it real when I didn't know if I could continue music. He pushed me to get back on my grind & continue what I once had stopped doing ! I'm forever grateful for him as well & also for introducing me to his wife as well threw phone conversations and just to know that someone believed in me & also had beautiful kids by someone who believed in him ... His legacy lives on no matter what ! I asked louie before when I started back doing music a question like "Are you still doing music "? His answer was " Never Stop " ! His answer gave me the strength to go back doing what I first started doing before I had kids which showed me to Never Stop ! We will always know that you have left a mark on the world as one of the best artist & actor that has been seen in great movies. So all the way from Houston Texas we want to send the family as much love as we can & thank-you for sharing such a amazing wonderful well know Reggae Legend & General with us !
We stand as one saying the marathon continues!
