Obituary of Earle George Adams

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Mr. Earle George Adams (Daddy, Dad, Grandpa, papa George, Mr. Dressup), on December 12, 2024, at the age of 84.

George was born on May 21, 1940, on the beautiful island of Jamaica, and migrated to Canada in 1970’s. He quickly found employment and established himself. His love for music was like water to the thirsty, his sense of fashion was unmatchable, earning him the name “Mr. Dressup”. He felt that a man should always look his best; therefore, a three-piece suit, hat, and well polished shoes was his daily wear, even when he went grocery shopping.  

George was also known for his strong will, stubbornness and sharp wits. His mental sharpness, his keen intelligence, and natural aptitude for using words in a positive way was a blessing to others. He did not shy away from expressing his opinion and telling it like it is. He had a knack for telling you the truth, as he sees it, even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear.

George “Mr. Dressup” will be missed by all who knew him and loved him.  He is survived by his children and stepchildren, Tony, Ray, Joy, Earl, Fray, Jacqueline, Dolly, Roxanne, and Melissa.
