Obituary of Percival James Plummer
“The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away;
may the name of the Lord be praised.” Job 1:21
With heavy hearts we share that Percival James Plummer (aka, Uncle Rudy, Percy) passed away on Friday October 18th, 2024 at the age of 68 in Toronto, ON., surrounded by his Family at Toronto Western Hospital. On Wednesday October 16th, 2024, Percival had a Stroke and was rushed into emergency surgery, however, did not pull through. There’s no doubt that Percival was embraced by His Heavenly Father during his transition from Earth.
Born on February 20th, 1956, in Clarendon, Jamaica W.I., to Jacob and Sarah Plummer, he was one of sixteen children. Deceased siblings: Kenu, Hamlet, George, Ivy, Eric, Mavis, Cas, and Leonard. Percival is survived by siblings: Osmond, Gwendolyn, Denis, Curtis, Dorothy, Ira, and Sonia.
Percival is also survived by his wife Tessa, his children, Pamlett, Christopher, Kenroy, Jason, Kevin, Terrell, Josiah and step-son Jamaal. He leaves behind his beautiful grandchildren: Krystal, Mikayla, Sage, and Tyler and Chris Junior great-grandchildren: Dominic and Jeremiah.
Percival also leaves behind his in-laws, nieces, nephews, his business partner, employees, community members, dear friends and customers.
Percival has left an indelible mark on our lives and a great void for all who’ve crossed paths with him. Percival was loved and deeply cherished. He’s described as a respectful, kind, gentle, and loving man who we miss tremendously.
Percival had great work ethics and worked diligently as a Driving Instructor and in his later years a Head Chef in Toronto, Ontario and was a Co-Owner of Tunup Islands Caribbean Foods. He was described as a “Pillar” of the restaurant as he dedicated his life to ensuring the restaurant's success. His passion for Caribbean Cuisine, love for his family and the community at large was evident. Not only was he a pillar in the restaurant, but the community at large. Percival was impactful in supporting various churches and schools within the Greater Toronto Area.
Percival's family appreciates all your prayers and kind gestures during this very difficult time of grief.
