Obituary of Granville Roy Morgan

Granville Roy Morgan (Mike Morgan), beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away on July 6, 2024, at the age of 62. Born on July 20, 1961 in Kingston, Jamaica, Mike was revered for his selfless nature, his tremendous athletic ability, his unwavering love to everyone around him and his dedication to making anyone who encountered him a better human being.  

Mike was a devoted husband to Carol McGregor, his wife of 26 years, and a loving father to Justine, Jaylan and Joshua Morgan. Mike was also a proud and loving grandfather to the beautiful Nailah. He was a dedicated brother to Con, Beverly, Joanne, Pauline, Margaret, Lloyd, Dana (Joy), Donavan (Eroll), Sandra (Nenette), and Sharon (Suzy).  

Mike was also a dedicated brother in-law to many including Winsome, Sandra, Anthony, Doug, Delroy, Paul, and Karen.  

He loved and respected his late parents Diralus Lilian Gordon (mother) and Roy Morgan (father) and is survived by his loving Mother in-law Miss Gloria.  

Mike has over 200 nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews many of whom he loved and cared for directly.  

Mike was a beacon of the community and served nearly 40 years with Toronto Community Housing where he touched the lives of many youth, seniors and co-workers. He loved doing renovation projects for countless people and demonstrated skillful craftsmanship. He had a world class sense of humour and wore his heart on his sleeves. He was a gentle giant who loved without apology.

Mike was awarded the Key to the city in  Prince Edward Island as a token of appreciation for his contribution to the island. Mike's accolades are vast and exemplary.  Known by many endearing nicknames including, Mike, Mikey, Uncle Mikey, Big Mike, Bamsey, Morgan, he will be remembered as a legend who always demonstrated good character, faith, integrity and love. His unexpected passing has sent a massive reverberation through the GTA and beyond and many are experiencing immeasurable sadness and grief. The family encourages everyone to continue praying and deeply appreciates the incredible outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
