As a child, Dorothy and I grew together for about four years and then we were separated until a few years ago. I don't remember much of our childhood days except to say that she had a lovely head of hair and her Mom --my aunt -- used to comb it beautifully and added clips and ribbons.
Since we reconnected, I had only seen her for a short while on two occasions and I was looking forward to our family reunion where we could reminisce about our childhood, but this was not to be. However, through our online communication, I found out that she was a warm, happy and caring person who loved her family and wanted to be in touch with everyone.
Goodbye, Dorothy. Sleep and take your rest. See you in the morning.

Dor was an encourager to me. Especially as a migrant in times of loneliness and longing for home. I could count on Dor for a simple word which came from the depths of enduring hardship as a good soldier. I will truly miss her.

She was a beautiful and precious soul. She made everyone around her feel loved and welcomed. I remember telling her that I’m praying for her after which she replied “make sure” and says she’s praying for me too. She was always saying “Aunty loves you” whenever we have a conversation. I met Dorothy about 3 years ago when she visited Jamaica with her sister Elaine , who is my best friend. We had a few laughs as she is an extremely jovial individual. Full of laughter and love .
My deepest condolences to her loved ones , and I'm brought to tears writing this because our "best" are leaving this earth.
