Mama Brown was always caring, humble, hospitable and fun loving. There was never a dull moment spent with her. Ever time she returned home to Jamaica, my son CJ and I would make every effort to take the trip from Mandeville to St. Elizabeth just to visit her. My son became so attached to her because of the sweet person she was that he also called her grandma Brown just like his sister Shawnna would. On her very last trip to Jamaica, a memory I will cherish deeply, mama told me “ Tat, you no gwaan si mi again mama. The doctors them say mi no fi travel again and the eyes dem not doing so well anymore so I think this will be my last visit. I don't know how I'm going to manage the cold cause I look forward to being out here during that time.” Sadly, that was in fact her last trip and our last visit. However, I am Happy I was still able to hear her voice because each time Shawnna went to spend time with her we were able to speak over the phone. I'll always cherish the moments we shared, the time we spent together over the years and the happy last two days my son and I spent with her. Mama you will always be in our hearts. Sleep and take your rest. Love, Tat & Grandson as you called us (Dothlyn and CJ.)

To my Mother and her siblings, I pray that you find peace as you all experience your first Mothers Day without Mama. There is nothing like a Mother’s Love. I am so thankful that I was blessed to have Mama- Maymay as my grandmother.

Mrs . Brown was a beautiful soul inside and out. Always smiling and soft spoken. I always felt loved whenever we spoke and I felt fortunate to know her. Gone but will never be forgotten . SIP sweet Angel
