Obituary of Nadine Elaine Williams

Nadine Elaine Williams, Deannie, was born in Kingston, Jamaica to parents Joyce Nembhard Willams and Astley Williams. When her loving Mother Joyce passed at the age of 32, her father remarried, so he and her stepmother Mabel Williams nurtured and raised Nadine and her siblings.

Nadine’s formative years were spent in St Catherine where she attended the Spanish Town Primary and then St Jago High School. After graduation, she pursued a career in accounting working in various accounting firms. She eventually secured employment at the Ministry of Labour, where she worked prior to her migration to Canada.

Nadine was a committed Christian and gifted singer. She along with her family members were known as the Williams choir. In addition, she along with sisters, Andrea and Veloria formed a vibrant trio at the Central Village SDA. She also honed her talent and blessed others as part of the Federation choir in Jamaica. In addition, Nadine was a Master Guide, Pathfinder Director, and Youth Counsellor. When she migrated to Canada, she continued to serve in the Pathfinder club as counsellor and instructor at the Meadowvale SDA. She was very passionate about this work and was a reliable disciplinarian. Her commitment never wavered and when she joined the Ebenezer SDA church, she ministered in the Family Life/ Singles’ Ministry, AY and Children’s Ministry. Notably, she was also an integral part of the choirs and praise teams at both Ebenezer and Meadowvale.

A beautiful voice has been silenced. Sadly, she lost her life on Sabbath April 6, 2024, while on her way to church. Nevertheless, we thank God for her life and lasting legacy. She leaves behind a host of family, brothers and sisters in Christ, and friends who were blessed to have known and loved her. Nadine’s memory will always live in our hearts.
