Oh, my. Hazel. We were a great team you and I. The laughs only you and I shared about things that only we will know..... The tears we cried about our families and the joy we had when times where great. I will never forget all the knowledge I gained with your years of nursing experience. I miss you so very much already and it hasn't been that long. Your words will always be in my head and I will use some of your catchy phases. I will always take care of our little Angel and keep her safe and as healthy as I can. You are one of kind and my life will also be at a loss when I think of you. Hazel was a fighter for Human Rights.
I met Hazel many many years ago when I supported several nurses from North Western Hospital to file complaints with the Ontario Human Rights Commission alleging racism and discrimination in the work place.
It was a very long, painful and challenging experience for the nurses.
However, during this period Hazel stood firm and never wavered in her desire to have a fair resolution
and to hold the Hospital accountable.
In the end the Hospital settled the complaints with the nurse whose claims were found to be justified.
Hazel was a dynamic fighter and remained resolute to the end.
A Life well lived.
Deepest sympathy to her husband, children and all family members.
May her Soul Rest in Eternal Peace.

Our most recent and now indelible memory of Hazel is when she and Roswell came to our bbq now a year ago.As usual she was resplendent in her Afrocentric outfit with accompanying head wear (no one can rock a head wear with such confidence).
