I am thankful that I was able to have some good conversations with Mr Douglin. My mom was going through cancer treatments and I drove from Texas to Colorado. Before I made my trip he pulled me to the side and gave me a gift and wished me safe travels. Looking back...I wish I could have had many more conversations with him. Both of Jennifer's parents were so kind and loving. May they rest in love:)

I would like to take this moment to thank the Douglin family for allowing me to be a part of their family and for giving me a chance to work with two of the most wonderful people I have ever known. Doreen Douglin (mother D) was a beautiful soul. Was loving, kind, and always put others first. Charles Douglin (Mr. D), took some time, as expected, to accept that I was there to help, but once he did there was no turning back. He accepted me as part of his family and allowed me to do the job I was there to do. I can write a book with all of the memories we created, from trips to the mall, cooking together, going on walks to the park, and his never ending stories he would tell that I loved to hear...just to name a few. It has been a wonderful and honourable privilege to have known and spent time with Mr. And Mrs. Douglin.

I first met Winfield at the St. Hilda's Anglican Church when I arrived in Canada in 1969. Over the course we became great friends since our parents shared the same faith in the Brethren Assembly. To me, he was always a great listener and mentor. I greatly treasure the relationship that developed over the years and will definitely miss him. To his immediate and extended family members, my profound sympathy at this time. He was well-anchored in his faith and this lead to the conclusion that his life has not been in vain. While lamenting his passing, treasure the memories of happier times thereby keeping him alive in your hearts. May his soul now rest in eternal peace. Rest well my friend until....
