Obituary of Myrtle Eliza Ferron

On August 17th, 2022, our beloved “Grams” and Mama, Myrtle Ferron, passed away at age 96. Myrtle was born in St Catherine, Jamaica on July  10, 1926 to parents Enus and Deena Vernon. 

Myrtle was a devoted mother to 8 children and a cherished grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother . 

She is survived by her sister, Catherine Nembhard and brothers, Fredrick and David Vernon; daughters Paula Small,  Delores Ferron, Jenive Green ; sons Lloyd Ferron, and Owen Nugent; 41 grandchildren; 55 great grand children; and 3 great great grand children.

She is preceded in death by daughters, Corrine Nugent, Marjorie Ferron and son, Douglas Ferron. 

Myrtle moved to Canada in 1986, but enjoyed traveling and spending time in Jamaica. Her favorite pastime was sitting on the veranda and eating mangoes from her garden. She would often hum songs and converse with passerbys, among  whom she was affectionately called “grams” or “grandma”.  Myrtle was known for her peaceful and warm demeanor, her friendly personality and kind heart. She shared a message of love and was a great source of comfort to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was a true treasure and we will miss her dearly. 

Visitation for Myrtle will be held on Thursday , September 15, 2022, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at New Haven Funeral Centre. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 16,2022 at 11:00 am at Islington Evangel Centre. Internment will follow at Glenview Memorial Gardens Garden of Peace
