I’m so sad that it’s been a year,
My name is Devon now, but I used to go by mya. I never got the chance to tell you because you’ve passed. I wish I had just five more minutes to talk to you. I remember all the good times we had. like you’d feed me and Kaliyah dumpling, me and you would babysit. One time me and kailyah couldn’t sleep so we went downstairs and we told you and you got us some food and comforted us so we could go to sleep. And sometimes you’d even kiss us on the cheek. at the time we wouldn’t like it, but I regret not letting you do it more. I love you so much I wish we could have talked more i’ve done so much since you’ve left to heaven,
Maybe we can chat again one day

May this beautiful soul rest in peace. I never had the joy of meeting Joy in person but I would ask about her every time I had a chat with her beloved husband, Leroy, my colleague and friend at work. I hope and pray that God will give her dear family and friends the grace and courage to bare this loss and may peace and love prevail in your hearts and home as you remember Joy and the beautiful memories you shared during her life with you.

Joy passed away Jan 20/22.
Joy your humility is your "Strength". No matter if you are feeling happy or sad, you don't complain. This is a passage I will take from your book. Your Love and Patience for children, are astounding. I often asked you how you do it; in loving the little ones the way you do. Your answer is always the same with an infectious smile. "It's ok." God bless you, and all the children bless and thank you for being their Special Nana. Xavier said he loved you so much; you have taught him many good things like putting on his coat and boots and not to fight with the other kids etc. I believe God truly is looking for a Special Teacher to look after his precious little ones. The position is now filled; You truly are that person. Through your children's eyes and mind you will live on forever, and whenever I think of you I will always reach out to them. Your love lives on in them. Rest in Peace, my cousin.

Growing up, I always looked forward to spending all of my Summers with you. You were an amazing woman and had a huge heart.
