This lady was not only a kind gentle soul ,but indeed a woman of God .The Birthrights sat directly in front of us for many years ,with Bro Birthright joining the Choir subsequently and Sister Birthright becoming ill and unable to attend Church . We witnessed first hand a genuine love story between a wonderful couple ,and the fellowship between our families in that space is priceless To the Birthright family we know you loved her but God loves her more and in her case to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord Sleep well Sister Birthright ,until we meet again on the other side . It is with the greatest of sadness and the heaviest of heart that I extend my condolences to Simone, Sandra, and Gary for the loss of their beloved Mother Norma; and to Bertie for the loss of his lifelong partner in love, in business, and in the shared appreciation of the interesting and the novel. My memories show that there were many shared celebrations and family gatherings when growing up that the Birthwright's were a crucial part of and an essential contributor to the joyous outcome. Norma's laughter resonates in these memories. Norma's playful exchange of "pet names" with my Dad as they chatted about the past or the current political climate comes to mind. Daddy would often begin conversations with "...yes Oopsy..." I never found out the story behind this pet name but I am sure there is a story. May God guide us from above during this challenging time of loss. Although knowing Norma is in a better place, where her mind is clear and her memory long ..I can't help missing her ...I can't help missing her and Bertie's visits to my parents home and witnessing their comfort in each other's company. May we find strength to adjust to a life without Norma Birthwright - witty, intelligent, and strong matriarch,. Rest in eternal peace. Oneka Pratt

My dear Aunt Norma you are greatly missed. So many happy memories of our long summer visit as a child in Canada. When Mommy said “no” we know you would say “yes”. Your home was a second home for us filled with love and fun times. I know you are in heaven with Wayne, your Siblings, My Dad and all of our Angels smiling down on us. Until we meet again.
